Road Machinery & Supplies celebrates 25 years with Iron Mining Association
The Iron Mining Association of MN (IMA) celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. The association represents Minnesota’s iron mines and more than 150 businesses that supply goods and services to the industry.
Road Machinery & Supplies (RMS), of Virginia, Minn., was one of 11 founding supplier members chosen to serve on the IMA board in 1992. When John Ruud first represented RMS on the board, his term was limited to three years.
Today, IMA board terms are limited to four consecutive years. Jon Anderson continues to show his company’s support of the IMA by representing RMS on the association’s board.
Anderson says RMS originally joined the IMA to support the mining industry, and since that time the association has grown to have a higher level of organizational excellence and a much more professional political effort.
RMS has been a part of the mining industry in Northern Minnesota and Michigan since 1926. The company distributes Komatsu and Atlas Copco mining machinery and delivers world class support of the highest production and lowest cost per ton products in the mining business.
Anderson said being an IMA member has benefitted his business.
“We are better positioned to help coordinate lobbying efforts and drive results,” he said.
Thank you to Jon Anderson for sharing his company’s experiences with the IMA. The IMA will be posting profiles on the different founding vendor board members throughout the year to celebrate the association’s 25th anniversary.
