Also new to the 2017 board is Producer Director Tim Kalisch of US Steel – MN Ore Operations.

They join board members representing the following companies: ArcelorMittal Minorca Mine, Cliffs Natural Resources, Furin & Shea, Hibbing Taconite, Industrial Lubricant Co., Jasper Engineering, Krech Ojard & Associates, Lind Industrial Supply Inc., Northshore Mining Co., Pit & Quarry Supplies, United Taconite, Steel Dynamics, U.S. Steel, W. U.S. Steel Mining Solutions General Manager Larry Sutherland currently chairs the board, which meets quarterly in the interest of the iron mining industry and its supporting businesses.

The association is overseen by IMA President Kelsey Johnson, who was hired by the board in March 2016.

“In the coming year, I look forward to building on the 25 years of this association’s success,” she said. “Minnesota’s iron mining industry is so vital to our region and nation.”
