Why are you an IMA member?
Jasper has long been a member of the IMA because we are in support of the great work the organization does across the state on behalf of the Mining Industry. We believe that we should support organizations like the IMA who are attempting to educate and inform others about the mining industry as a whole and the role it plays in communities across the state and country.
What does your organization/company do?
Jasper was founded in 1958 in Hibbing MN, to service the needs of the growing taconite mining industry. Today, we are a leading distributor, manufacturer’s representative and service provider specializing in process-related equipment including but not limited to pumps, industrial fans, valves, motorized pulleys, wear materials and other industrial products.
How does the iron mining industry impact your company’s operations?
Iron Mining is a significant part of business each year and we have followed its ups and downs throughout our history so yes the mining industry plays a significant role in our business.
How has the iron mining industry changed during your career?
The industry has evolved significantly, shifting from labor-intensive operations to advanced, technology-driven processes. Locally, we’ve seen a move toward value-added products and cleaner steelmaking inputs, reflecting the industry’s push for greater efficiency and sustainability.
