Job Posting: Intern – Keetac Plant Maintenance

Job Description

We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer or Industrial Engineer Student at Minnesota Ore Operations. The Internship affords the opportunity to apply educational experiences to real world engineering principals.  This position is a temporary full-time position for the summer of 2027 and will be located at Keetac in Keewatin, MN.  This is a safety sensitive position requiring drug and alcohol testing.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Report directly to plant managers and work along-side the process plant engineers and shift managers.
• Perform measurements and analysis for the predictive and preventative maintenance program.
• Participate in engineering of upgrades to plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment failures and determine potential solutions.
• Work with suppliers to trial parts and equipment in the plant.

Requirements:

• Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.
• Candidates must be a current student and have completed their sophomore year by June 2027 and be in good academic standing.
• Must have at least a 3.0 GPA.
• Be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Rate: $24-$26 /hr. This base salary range is a good faith estimate. Based on candidate skills/experience the final offer may be lower/higher.
