Mining adds to state’s $19B in global exports

Mining contributed to $19 billion in state exports, according to a recent report from the Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED).

Agricultural, mining and manufactured products left Minnesota at a rate 4 percent lower than 2015, but supported nearly 120,000 jobs in the state.

“Minnesota still has a thriving and diverse export sector,” said DEED Commissioner Shawntera Hardy in the report.
